How to Sell Digital Patterns on Shopify

The easiest and safest way to sell a digital pattern on Shopify, is to use Shopify's Digital Downloads app. In this post we will be showing you how to add Shopify's app to a store so you can follow along and do it yourself. 

First, go to https://apps.shopify.com/digital-downloads and you will be met with this screen. 

 

 

Log in to your Shopify store with the "login" button at the top right of the page.

 

 

Once you have logged into your store you can now click "Add app", this will redirect you to your Shopify admin page. 

 

 

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Install app".

 

 

When the app finishes installing, you can now start making digital products.
To make a digital download of a pattern you need two things, a product setup on your store, and a PDF file of the product.
To start, click "View products",

 

 

and select the product you wish to make into a digital download. In the product page there will be a new option next to duplicate and preview. Click "More actions" and select "Add Digital Attachment".

 

 

That will take you back to the "Digital Downloads" app and will show statistics of the digital product.

 

 

You will need to add the file that is related to the product. To do so, click "Upload File" and select the PDF file of the product you are selling. This will save the product and customers who purchase it can now download the file.
